Graham is standing as the Liberal Democrat candidate in the Westbury-on-Trym & Henleaze by-election.

Graham came to Bristol with his work in 1993.  He is a retired Senior Civil Servant and worked on planning and nature conservation policy, then became Deputy Clerk of the Privy Council where he attended Privy Council meetings, specialised in health regulation, led a successful change management programme, and in 2005, won University Challenge - The Professionals, with the Privy Council Office team.

After retirement, Graham worked in professional regulation - of barristers, solicitors, chiropractors and architects. He was a trustee of Crisis Centre Ministries, chairing its Board until 2015. He is a lay member of the National Blood Transfusion Committee and was a member of the NICE Blood Transfusion Guideline Development Group.

Graham was vice Chair of Stoke Bishop, Westbury-on-Trym & Henleaze Neighbourhood Partnership.  He helps organise the Stoke Bishop Forum and participates actively in the Westbury and Henleaze ones. He is secretary of the Friends of Canford Park and a prominent campaigner for a Canford Lane crossing.

Graham is a member of St Mary's Church, Stoke Bishop.  He is married with two grown up children and two grandsons.
